While this year’s Ironman 70.3 UK got underway in Exmoor yesterday, the weekend’s youngest athletes had already completed their races in the Ironkids event.

This was the first of there events to be held over the UK season which will see some 3,000 kids aged 3-14 get a taste for the sport and become part of Ironman events. They covered a variety of distances according to their age, from 500m with a parent for the 3-year-olds up to a 2km run trail run around the lake for the 14-year-olds, with all of them finishing under the Ironman finish arch.
